Catalog description

This course introduces students to the field of archaeology and how material remains contribute to the socio-scientific study of the Bible (Hebrew Bible/”Old Testament” and New Testament). Students learn about the major theories and methods of archaeology, how material remains illuminate biblical narratives, as well as the history of early Jewish and Christian traditions. Students also analyze the different ways individuals and groups today make use of archaeology associated with the Bible. Semester(s) Offered: Spring
