Essentials of the U.S. Health Care System

sophomore standing This course is an introduction to the basic structures and operations of the United States health system and focuses on the major core challenges of the delivery of health care. The foundation and history of United States health care; the health care workforce, philosophy, nature, and scope of health organizations including hospitals, primary, ambulatory and long-term care facilities; administration and financing of health care; and government in the health care system will be discussed.
