permission of the instructor, and a grade of ‘C’ or better in MSCI 302 / MSCI 302L or BIOL 370 / BIOL 370L An integrated overview of background, theory, natural history, biogeography, physiological ecology, and current status of biological invasions in marine habitats. Topics include proven and potential impacts to estuarine and marine communities, ecosystems, fisheries, and conservation. Students evaluate life history traits and vectors and relate them to control strategies, resource management, and policy as well as global climate change, biodiversity, and aquaculture using the primary literature as a foundation.
