Modeling for Scientists I

Corequisite(s): MATH 242L The class is designed to introduce students to concepts in mathematical modeling and scientific computing. The course is project-based, and computer software is used extensively to implement models, solve problems, and visualize results. Topics include counting by enumeration, population dynamics, Newton’s method for finding roots of equations, and fractal generation. Semester(s) Offered: Fall
