INTEL 200 This class examines the activities of the U.S. intelligence community in preventing hostile actors from penetrating institutions and recruiting personnel as well as how the intelligence community turns the tables on those hostile actors. By virtue of its complexity, counterintelligence is often described by practitioners as the most demanding of the intelligence disciplines. In this class, both defensive and offensive elements are analyzed, from physical security and personnel vetting to the penetration of adversary operational networks. Although U.S. organizations and practices are emphasized, the counterintelligence capabilities of adversary states and non-state actors are also discussed. Semester(s) Offered: Offered as needed
