Catalog description
This course examines the development of scientific medicine as well as medical and scientific approaches to the body from 1800 to the present. The course may focus on the making of modern physicians and patients, transformations in public health and epidemiology, the roles of gender and race in treating “unhealthy” bodies, and other topics. This course may be repeated for up to six credit hours under different topics. Semester(s) Offered: F, S, May, and Su.
