Equivalent: POLI 489 A study of major issues such as foreign intervention, globalization, debt crises, and political violence facing states and societies in recent Latin American history. Students will explore connections between the people and governments of Latin America, Europe, and the US since the 19th century, focusing on the development of US dominance in Latin America in the 20th century and its effects.
