Catalog description

This course explores the causes, consequences, and legacies of major revolutions in Latin America in the 20 th century in Mexico, Cuba, and Nicaragua, as well as important experiments in social change in other parts of Central and South America and the Caribbean. Students examine these case studies through lectures, discussions, videos, and primary / secondary source readings which focus on topics such as social justice, neocolonialism, race, nationalism, gender, ethnicity, and the role of international affairs.
