AOJ 003 provides a history and critical analysis of punishment, including its various types, alternatives to punishments, and its impact on the criminal justice system. The course also covers corrections, with a critical examination of the various types of correctional institutions, clients housed in each, and an exploration of contemporary correctional issues.
