Communication and Counseling Skills

Catalog description

Prerequisite: PSYC 1110 An introduction to basic communication skills and strategies for the helping professions, such as social work and mental- health counseling. The history, theory, and areas of practice in the helping professions will be explored through lecture and experiential activities. Special emphasis will be placed on the influence of personal and professional values of one's development as a service provider in a multicultural society.
