History of the Theatre II

Catalog description

Pre-req: Completion of the Core Curriculum Research & Professional Writing requirement, THE 211 or permission of the instructor. The student will become familiar with the historical, social, theoretical and literary contexts of theater and drama from the Elizabethan through late 18th century communities. Students will study dramatic texts in conjunction with explorations of social developments and critical shifts effecting the theater role and purpose in society.
