Catalog description

Co-requisites: SWK 490. Obtaining the social work license is the first step to becoming a Social Worker. This course is designed to prepare students for the Association of Social Work Board (ASWB) BSW Licensure Examination. The course provides an overview of Ohio’s Rules and Laws for licensing, the ASWB examination, test taking strategies, stress reduction techniques, and practice exams and quizzes. The course provides an overview of exam domains of human development, diversity, and behavior in the environment; assessment; interventions with clients and client systems; and professional relationships, values, and ethics. By focusing on the knowledge, values, and skills addressed in the exam domains, students integrate the social work competencies for generalist practice and apply them to case scenarios.
