Field Practicum I

Catalog description

Prerequisites: SWK 200, SWK 201, SWK 300, SWK 302, SWK 303, SWK 304, SWK 350. Pre or Co-Req: SWK 395. Students will develop their generalist social work competencies with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations in field settings. Upon completion of SWK 390, students must have accumulated a minimum of 210 hours in SWK 390 respectively. Students may complete their field practicum at their place of employment if their employment is directly linked to the social work competency areas. An employment-based field proposal (EBP) must be submitted to the Field Coordinator for approval. Course is graded on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis. Continuation onto a second field practicum (SWK 490) and completion of the major are contingent on a grade of “S.”
