Actuarial Exam P/1 Prep Course

Catalog description

Corequisite: STA 424. This is a one-credit course which continues to prepare students for the Actuarial Exam P/1. The course is offered in the last quarter of the semester when STA 424 is offered. While STA 424 covers a significant portion of the material on Exam P/1, it is not enough due to the time constraint of a 3 credit course. Students interested in becoming an actuary should take both STA 424 and STA 425 because STA 425 covers additional topics for the exam (e.g., joint moment generating functions, likelihood functions, and order statistics) that are not included in the 3-credit STA 424.
