H: Race, Class and Gender Honors

Catalog description

Prerequisite: Honors standing or permission of University Honors Program. This course introduces students to major sociological approaches to the study of race, class and gender in contemporary American society. Students will survey the major theoretical approaches to race, class and gender and will examine empirical evidence regarding the extent of these kinds of inequality, the ways in which they are produced and reproduced, and their consequences.
