Foundations of Political Thought

Catalog description

Pre-req: Completion of the Core Curriculum Research & Professional Writing requirement. Examines the systematic thought of political philosophers from Ancient Greece and Rome as well as the Medieval period. Core issues include the purpose of government and politics, evaluation of systems of government, the obligations of rulers and subjects, and the nature of justice. This course is cross-listed with PHL 364 Classical & Medieval Political Philosophy.
