Catalog description

This three-credit hour course explores the values, economics, security, and concerns of people who seek fulfilling lives for themselves, their families, and communities. In doing so this is frequently filtered through politics. Many political scientists define politics simply as “who, gets what, when, and how”. Underlying the manipulation of politics is power, and this is related to justice received and justice denied. This course explores how people use politics and power to achieve varied objectives. It further explores the when, how, and why some may organize themselves and overcome obstacles to achieve justice. Core Curriculum Category: Complexities of a Pluralistic Society
