Maxwell equations; electromagnetic energy; electromagnetic waves; interaction of light with dielectric and metallic materials: dispersion; geometric optics; lenses and lens aberrations, mirrors, polarization, birefringence, interference, interferometer design, Fraunhofer and Fresnel diffraction.
