What does it mean to reason well? When we are trying to justify a position, how do we offer a good argument? These are the fundamental questions of logic, a field of philosophy that can help improve our ability to critically evaluate and craft arguments related to any topic. During this course, we will investigate different types of arguments, emphasizing the qualities they must have to be worth considering, and then develop two special symbolic languages we can use to clarify and better analyze arguments. This course is heavily collaborative and skills based. You should expect to regularly work with your peers in class and regularly complete practice problems outside of class.
