Catalog description

Prerequisite: OSM 202 or equivalent. This course presents the principal applications of sample surveys, survey design, criteria of a good sample design, and characteristics of simple random sampling, stratified random sampling, and cluster sampling. Case studies are used where appropriate to illustrate applications of survey sampling. This course also explains how to plan an experiment so that appropriate data can be collected and analyzed and a reliable conclusion can be drawn. Strong emphasis will be placed on the application of SAS software to actual data.
