Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program or permission of instructor, and TBSN: NUR 352. Corequisite: TBSN/ABSN: NUR 432; OABSN: NUR 433. This course focuses on the nursing care of women and infants across the continuum of care, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn periods. Students will explore family-centered care, cultural competence, ethical considerations, and evidence-based interventions to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes. Virtual simulations from Shadow Health and unfolding case studies will be integrated to enhance clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
