Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program or permission of the instructor, and TBSN NUR 352 & PSY 200; ABSN/OABSN: Completion of a child development course. Corequisite: TBSN/ABSN: NUR 422; OABSN: NUR 423. This 8-week, lecture course focuses on the nursing care of children and families across diverse settings. Students will explore growth and development, pediatric health promotion, common childhood illnesses, and family-centered care principles. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, cultural competence, and interprofessional collaboration to optimize health outcomes for children and their families.
