Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program or permission of the instructor, and TBSN: NUR 352. Corequisite: NUR 401. This course explores population health principles and strategies for promoting wellness in across communities. Students will examine social determinants of health, health disparities, and culturally responsive care within a pluralistic society. Emphasis is placed on community assessment, health promotion, shared decision-making using The SHARE Approach, and interprofessional collaboration. Case studies include unsheltered, refugee health, chronic disease management, and community health screenings.
