Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the RN-to-BSN Program. This course engages learners in a theoretically based application of informatics to modern healthcare problems. Introduces learners to clinical data analytics as an evidence-based clinical decision making tool to improve patient care outcomes. Examines the complexity of how to effectively guide healthcare workers and patients to accurate and timely online healthcare information to help empower safe clinical practice in an era of digital health care. The course outline is based on TIGER Nursing Informatics Competencies including basic computer competency, information literacy and information management.
