Scientific Inquiry and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)

Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program or permission of instructor, completion of the Core Curriculum Research & Professional Writing requirement, and TBSN/ABSN: NUR 251; OABSN: NUR 249. Corequisite: None. This course introduces students to the principles of scientific inquiry and evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing. Students will learn to critically appraise research, integrate best evidence into clinical decision-making, and apply EBP models to improve patient outcomes. Emphasis is placed on developing skills for literature review, data interpretation, and translating evidence into practice using the latest guidelines and frameworks.
