Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the RN-to-BSN Program. Essentially all disease processes have a genetic or genomic component. This course introduces the essential competencies needed to prepare the nursing workforce to incorporate a genetics/ genomics perspective into the delivery of competent nursing care. The course will explore how genetic/genomic technology produces information to inform best practices for disease prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment across the lifespan.
