Nursing Assessment Lab in Residence

Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to Online Accelerated Nursing Program (OABSN). Corequisite: OABSN only: NUR 243. This hybrid lab-based course complements the Nursing Assessment theory course by providing students with hands-on practice in performing comprehensive and focused health assessments across the lifespan. Students will develop psychomotor and communication skills necessary to collect accurate health histories and conduct physical examinations using a concept-based approach. Emphasis is placed on safety, cultural sensitivity, clinical judgment, and documentation. Student will complete activities online then attend an on-campus residence to demonstrate skills and participate in competency evaluations.
