Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program or permission of the instructor, and TBSN: NUR 230. Corequisite: TBSN/ABSN: NUR 261; OABSN: None. This is the first of three integrated courses that introduce students to the foundational principles of pathophysiology and pharmacology. This course emphasizes the physiological basis of disease and pharmacologic interventions aligned with core nursing concepts introduced in Adult Health Nursing I. Students will develop competency in medication calculations and safe medication administration practices. Key medication classifications related to oxygenation, perfusion, pain, inflammation, and mobility will be explored.
