Population Health - A Global Perspective
Cleveland State University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course examines global population health through the lens of narrative non-fiction literature. Framed by big questions, learners will explore how cultural values, systems, and ethics shape population health across contexts and during public health emergencies. Through inquiry-based activities - including questioning, evidence gathering, case analysis, collaborative problem solving, and advocacy - students will develop skills in critical thinking, cultural humility, disaster preparedness, and equitable policy engagement. Emphasis is placed on the process of inquiry (posing questions, investigating, analyzing, synthesizing, communicating, and reflecting). Students will explore systemic challenges in global healthcare delivery.
