Diction for Singers 2

Catalog description

The class discusses the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) and its practical application to French and English Lyric Diction through both in-class practice and dictionary reference. This course is designed to further examine the rules of transcription and reading in French and English based on information and knowledge of basic IPA gained in the previous quarter. Students will be able to understand the IPA symbols, their pronunciation, and the implementation of this learning into vocal/choral repertoire.
