Advanced Supervised Clinical Experience II

Catalog description

Prerequisites: Successful completion of MTX 373, MTX 383, and MTX 393 (section 1). Co-requisites: MTX 393 (section 2). This advanced-level supervised clinical placement provides opportunities for students to refine their musical, clinical, and professional competencies in preparation for internship and professional practice. Emphasis is placed on advanced clinical musicianship, case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, cultural responsiveness, and professional identity. Students are expected to demonstrate increased independence, initiative, and clinical reasoning within complex therapeutic contexts. Music therapy majors must earn at least a “B-” for this course to count towards the music therapy bachelor’s degree (or its post-bac equivalent).
