Catalog description

Prerequisites: Successful completion of MTX 271 and MTX 291. Co-requisites: MTX 381 and MTX 391. Practicum Competency Exam I is an evaluation examination designed to assess a student’s applied musical proficiency required for effective clinical practice. The exam measures competence in voice, guitar, piano, and music & movement skills. Music therapy majors must earn an “S” (Satisfactory) to proceed to MTX 391 (2nd iteration) and for this course to count towards the music therapy bachelor’s degree (or its post-bac equivalent).
