Prerequisites: Successful completion of MTX 281. Co-requisites: MTX 291. The Pre-Practicum Competency Exam is an evaluation examination designed to assess a student’s applied musical proficiency required for effective clinical practice. The exam measures competence in voice, guitar, piano, and percussion skills. Music therapy majors must earn an “S” (Satisfactory) to proceed to MTX 391 and for this course to count towards the music therapy bachelor’s degree (or its post-bac equivalent).
