Catalog description

Prerequisites: Music therapy major or permission of course instructor. In this course, students will learn how to utilize basic percussion techniques on a range of pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments; adapt and arrange percussions instruments for small ensembles; improvise on percussion instruments within a small ensemble; care for and maintain percussion instruments; and demonstrate basic, functional conducting skills appropriate for small percussion ensemble. Music therapy majors must earn at least a “B-” for this course to be counted towards the music therapy bachelor’s degree.
