Catalog description

First-year students will learn to talk to others with different views, finding common ground through respectful conversations. Engaging in hands-on activities, they will understand what distinguishes civil from uncivil behavior, preparing them for healthy university debate and active civic engagement in their communities. This course also introduces first-year students to key university skills and resources, setting them up for academic success and a smooth transition into college life.
