Catalog description
This core curriculum course will introduce students to the field of creative writing and how to write, read, and think imaginatively. Students will explore the creative process, practice reading as a writer, and will write their own creative work. The course will include a range of contemporary literature (such as poetry, fiction, essays, and/or plays), and students will engage with local forms of culture and community by attending events, exploring literary publishing, and hearing from guest writers. This course does not count toward fulfillment of the first-year writing requirement and cannot serve as a substitute for ENG 102.
