Independent Study

Catalog description

Prerequisites: Written permission of the instructor and prior approval by the Committee on Instruction in the English Department at least two weeks prior to the term in which the independent study would begin. Intensive study of a specialized topic growing out of 300-level English course work. Students may count up to four independent study credits toward the major. A student must be in good academic standing to qualify for an independent study. Independent studies cannot be given as substitutes for courses that normally are offered in the curriculum.
