Middle Childhood Rotation & Seminar 2: Assessment & Instruction

Catalog description

Prerequisites: EDB 241, EDB 242, ETE 243. Corequisites: EDB 400, ETE 343. Must be admitted to the college as a declared major or minor. This course will introduce key elements of instructional planning and the manner in which assessment practices may be employed to support and enhance learning. Specifically, students will spend 75 hours in field (school and non-school settings), 37.5 hours in classroom (primarily in field location) focusing on Assessment, Value Added concepts, Planning for Learning, Implementation of Teaching and Learning, Pedagogical Content, Classroom Management (Classroom Environment, Culturally Responsive Teaching). Essential content from rotation 1 (Context for Learning, Diversity) will be revisited and interns understanding and application of previously introduced content will be enhanced and deepened. All students enrolled in this class must have a valid and unexpired Clearance Report from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on file with the college advising office.
