Catalog description

Prerequisites: CMG 220. Students learn how to assess the state of infrastructure systems with a focus on diagnostic techniques that focus on underground utilities. The focus is on planning, equipment, materials and methods for rehabilitation and construction of sewer and water mains using trenchless technology. Topics include interpretation of geotechnical reports, embankment construction, foundations on expansive soils, excavation supports, excavation dewatering, deep foundation construction, tunneling in soft ground as well as in soft/hard rock.
