Catalog description

Prerequisite: Placement within one of the academic colleges at CSU. This course provides students with knowledge related to a wide range of construction industry activities including project management, health, safety and welfare, legal framework, and sustainability. The student is presented with the concept of the project management life cycle that describes the built environment from design to operations and ultimately disposal. The course introduces framework of the construction industry and covers various skillsets needed in construction management, including construction drawings and construction material specifications (ODOT, APWA), estimating and bidding, construction contracts, project management and computer techniques.
