Catalog description

Prerequisites: Admitted into the Monte Ahuja College of Business; GPA of 2.0 or better; ENG 101 with a grade of C or better; BUS 151 or HCA 150 or SPM 201 with a grade of C or better; Completion of one approved College of Business math course for the student’s specific business major with a grade of C or better. The Business Exploration Internship course is for business students pursuing a business major with less than 59 earned credit hours who seek to explore an entry-level employment opportunity to learn first-hand about various areas of business by working in professional services, industry, healthcare organizations, governmental agencies, or for-profit or not-for-profit organizations performing professional duties. An internship may be paid or unpaid, but it should consist of work experience that is at least eight weeks in length or for 120 hours over a semester in order to qualify for three credit hours. Students who seek to enroll in BUS 290 for one or two credit hours will work with the College of Business to determine the total work hours required in order to earn one or two credit hours. Note: The College of Business internship courses for earning credit hours require the student to be of junior or senior rank for enrollment in a business internship course at the 300 or 400-level.
