Basic Computational Methods in Biological and Environmental Sciences

Catalog description

Prerequisites: Successful completion of BIO 200, BIO 201, BIO 202, and BIO 203 or permission of instructor. This course introduces students to basic computational methods and applications in biological and environmental sciences using R, the open-source statistical programming language that is commonly used for a wide variety of statistical analyses and data visualizations. Basic R programming concepts will be explored and applied in the context of big data in biology and environmental sciences. Students will learn to work with publicly available/published datasets in biological and environmental sciences.
