Catalog description

Prerequisite: Completion of the Core Curriculum Research & Professional Writing requirement. The Black Freedom Movement explores the Modern Civil Rights and Black Power movements, examining key figures, prominent organizations, as well as the socio-economic and political influences of both movements on America’s cultural landscape. This course examines also how protest movements of this era provided a framework for today’s social movements.
