Catalog description

An introduction to the study of art history and to the visual arts of South, Southeast, and East Asia, from the Neolithic settlements of the Indus Valley through the early modern period of Japan. Students gain skills in looking at works of art, discussing objects in terms of historical, religious, and cultural contexts, and writing descriptively about art. Typically includes visits to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
