Catalog description

This course engages a critical and constructive exploration of the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of Christian mission and evangelism. The course situates evangelism within the Church's identity as a community sent to participate in the mission of God for the reconciliation of the world, examining how diverse theological traditions have shaped the Church's witness across time and context. Attention is given to the development of holistic and contextually informed models of evangelistic witness appropriate to diverse ecclesial and cultural settings. This course is designed to satisfy the requirements of United Methodist ministerial candidates in the area of evangelism or mission.
