Catalog description
This course emphasizes the information required make important decisions concerning lifestyle, health, and wellness in today's society. An exploration is done in stress management, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, weight control, nutrition, fitness, sexuality, fertility/reproduction, chronic and infectious diseases, heart disease, cancer, consumer health, aging, environmental issues, and other topics related to health care and wellness and the impact on western society. Students are expected to work and participate at an honors level which includes strong critical thinking skills, thorough analysis of readings, presentation, and leadership skills demonstrated through class participation/presentation during the investigation of health/fitness topics.
