Nur Care of Maternal Newborn

Catalog description
This course emphasizes a holistic and evidence-based approach to maternal-newborn and women's health nursing, grounded in principles of culturally responsive, patient-centered care. Students will explore the care of individuals and families across the reproductive continuum, including normal and high-risk pregnancies, postpartum care, newborn care, and common women's health conditions across the lifespan, integrating research, ethical and legal considerations, and current clinical guidelines to support optimal outcomes. The course highlights interprofessional collaboration, leadership in maternal/newborn settings, and the effective use of informatics and health technologies to ensure quality and safety in practice. Students will apply nursing knowledge and critical thinking in discussions, seminars, case studies, and clinical experiences. Prerequisite: All 100 and 200-level nursing courses
