Catalog description

The Elective I Clinical Clerkship is a four-week required supervised clinical practice experience. This clerkship gives the student the ability to choose an area of clinical interest*. The student may choose from any area of medical practice, from primary care to sub-specialties. All experiences must be in clinical settings, be approved by the director of clinical training, and have adequate hours of patient contact. In cases in which a student has not obtained adequate clinical hours or was identified as having deficiencies in clinical performance in their mandatory supervised clinical practice experiences, the program reserves the right to require a specific clinical area for the student’s elective.
