This course examines the unique role of advanced nursing leaders as advocates across complex systems. Internal and external variables that influence nursing care and the health of patient and community populations are analyzed, and evidence-based solutions are proposed to assure quality, mitigate risk, and advance health outcomes and organizational efficiency. Learners reflect upon the values of patient populations served and consider opportunities to cultivate a culture of equity and inclusivity. Professional competencies necessary for planning, implementing, and evaluating collaborative approaches to health needs are emphasized.
