Catalog description

This is the third of a 6-part seminar series which begins in the didactic year and continues through the clinical year. This course will explore the U.S. healthcare delivery system, medical information and clinical data systems, payment systems and funding sources and provider practices that promote quality cost-effective healthcare. Topics will include practical applications in electronic medical record utilization, documentation in electronic medical records, billing, coding, reimbursement and costs/cost containment in clinical practice. It will explore the current environment of healthcare reform including issues related to health equity and access to care.
